Airports

There are two major International Airports in China. Pudong serves nearly all of the international travel, and Hongqiao has a few International flights from Korea, Japan and a few other South Sast Asia countries, however it usually deals with domestic flights. Transportation too and from these airports are quite different.

Pudong International Airport (Airport code PNG) serves most of Shanghai's international flights, While Hongqiao serves most of the domestic flights. Getting to and away from Pudong International Airport is very easy. Perhaps the quickest way to get into town is to take the new Maglev. This will cost 50 RMB for a single journey. This cost is much less than the equivalent distance in a taxi, and once you arrive at the Shanghai side station you are conveniently located next to Subway Line Two's Longyang Road station. From here you can get to most any place in the city with ease. At night the Maglev will not be running so the cheapest method to get into Town is an Airport Bus. Lastly the Taxi drivers will also be glad to serve you.

Hongqiao Airport handles most of the Domestic flights in and out of Shanghai. It does serve a few International flights, most notable of which is Seoul. Hongqiao is not near a metro station and the fastest way into town is a Bus or Taxi. Also, There is a very convenient bus from Hongqiao to Line 2's Jing'an Subway Station.
