Shanghai Docent

An Australian restaurant with enough fame to the expat crowd on Twitter to play host to the World Wide Twestival to raise money and awareness for charity: water.

Unfortunately Kakadu is not located near any subway stations so unless you are familiar with Shanghai's bus system you will need a cab or walking shoes to get there.

This bar has an American bar feel and decent burgers. Although many foreigners go to the Blue Frog it isn't accepted with great praise. Some people enjoy the burgers but if you are in the area of Tongren road walk the block to Malones for some of the best burgers in Shanghai.

Each of the locations have a different crowd. The Tongren road location is not exactly the best place to bring the kids. The French Concession location The Hong Mei branch has a kids area.
