Dance Club
Yuyintang
Prices are Cheap
Hours: 12pm until late
One of the Oldest live music venues in Shanghai. Yuyintang brings some of the best outside talent and undiscovered local talent to the public. Usually underground rock acts. Its important to note that Yuyintang recently changed location, oh and cheap drinks.
The Shelter
Drafts: 20rmb Mixed Drinks: 30-40rmb
Wed-Sun 9pm-late
The Shelter is a basement club and it looks the part. If a disaster happened in Shanghai the party goers here would know know about it, but they would be well protected. The drinks are cheaper here than most places and the dance floor is sizable too.
Muse
There is great DJ talent coming through the Muse Group. The drinks are in the mid range for Shanghai Bars. The service is lacking but that is the norm at a Chinese place it seems. However there are some complaints from locals about the staff being rude to the party goers.
Book early for a place to sit because the whiskey, dice and tea crowd will take over the seating. A nice pool table is tucked away in the corner, however the wait may be long on some nights.
M2
This club is owned by the same people as Muse and it is often called Muse 2 because of this. The DJ talent here is noteworthy. The clientele are there to be seen. The decor and sound is stunning all around. Don't come to M2 without the expectation of dancing, one cannot lounge in this atmosphere well.
M1NT
Hours: 9pm till late
Not for the average tourist is a blunt way to explain what M1NT is. M1NT is, in other words, a superbly decorated club that includes a Shark tank, spacious seating, and a spectacular view. Catering to the most elite people in the World M1NT has some of the best VIP tables in town, and reportedly a special VIP entrance.
